William C. “Bill” Hummer, 93, of Manheim, died peacefully on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Pleasant View Communities. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Earl S. and Anna K. Cassel Hummer. Bill was the loving husband of Donna L. Burd Hummer who died in February of 2020 following 47 years of marriage. Bill was a life-long truck driver. He had a passion for the outdoors; spending time in the mountains and woods where he could share his love of hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling. He was a lifetime member of the Elstonville Sportsmen’s Association, Roby Hollow Hunting Camp, in Tioga County, Red Rose Snowmobile Club, Black Forest Snowmobile Club, and the PA State Snowmobile Club. Bill was well known as a great story teller among his family and friends. He had a kind and humble heart always willing to help anyone in need. Bill cherished the time he could spend with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and large extended family which brought him great joy.
Surviving are three daughters: LuAnn wife of Anthony Cicero of Denver, Deborah Webster of Manheim, Barbara wife of Rick Meier of Elizabethtown, four stepsons: Donald Wagner companion of Diane Rettew of Columbia, Michael Wagner of Lancaster, Steven husband of Mary Jo Wagner of Millersville, Brian Wagner of Menlo Park, CA, thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, a brother, Glenn C. husband of Kathy Hummer of Manheim, and three sisters: Ann L. Graybill, Nancy C. Waltz, and Carol J. Hummer all of Manheim. Preceding him in death is a son, Robert S. Hummer, a stepson, Timothy Wagner, two grandsons: Eric Wagner and Andrew Meier, three brothers: J. Robert Hummer, E. Eugene Hummer, Charles L. Hummer, and a sister, Mary Jane Balmer.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Bill’s funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in East Fairview Cemetery, Manheim.
