July 27, 1951 — March 9, 2024

Manheim

William "Bill" Alan Carter, 72, of Manheim, PA, passed away on March 9, 2024, following an illness. Born in Mineola, NY, he was the son of the late William Andrew Carter and late Mildred Heagy Carter. Bill had a deep ethic and a love of the great outdoors. He was an engineer with an artist's heart who found a creative outlet in culinary pursuits and, while keeping very healthy, loved to cook and taste the best of food from many cuisines. He enjoyed eating the many fruits of his large garden and tinkering with electrical engineering projects even after he was no longer employed. He loved dogs, loved music, and loved soccer, which he played multiple times a week until near his death.

Bill is survived by his son, Michael Alan Carter of Crofton, MD; daughter Meridith Christina Kim of Philadelphia; 5 grandchildren; and sister, Suzanne Brubaker of Philadelphia.

Services for Bill will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in Bill's memory to Manheim Soccer Club, 910 Pinkerton Road, Mount Joy, Pennsylvania 17552 or SWAG, a soccer training program for underserved youth, endorsed by the Philadelphia Union - https://www.the-swag.org/donate/
