William A. Becker

William A. “Bill” Becker, 81, of Manheim, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Marcene M. (Spayd) Becker, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage.

Born in Lebanon, he was the son of the late Arthur and Margaret (Cool) Becker.

Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1965 – 1967. Following the Army, Bill was employed by Raybestos-Manhattan for 15 years. He then went on to work on the dock for Yellow Freight, where he retired from. In his early days, Bill was known as “Smiley”, having an outgoing personality and a smile. He enjoyed the outdoors, where he gardened, planted flowers, and worked in the yard each year. Bill also enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time in the mountains, boating, and going to Ocean City, MD, where he would go clamming and crabbing. He was a member of the Germania Band Club, the Elstonville Sportsmen’s Association, and the Dela-Ches Fishing Association.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Cheryl (Jeffrey) Greiner, William (Rebecca) Becker, and Douglas Becker, all of Manheim, and James (Jodi) Becker, of Mount Joy; grandchildren, Matthew Becker, Kayla (Joshua) Clinger, Gregory (Veronica) Greiner, Skyler (Tiffany) Becker, Miranda (Garrett) Babula, Haley Becker, and Wyatt Becker; great-grandchildren, Aadyn, Layla, Bella, Grace, Bennett, Emma, Ellie, and Cooper; brothers, Randy Becker, of Manheim, and Richard (Connie) Becker, of Lancaster; a sister, Darlene Helm, of Texas; a sister-in-law, Vickie (John) Swanger; and a stepmother, Fern Alcala, of Manheim. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great-grandchild, Lexi, brothers, Gary and Arthur, Jr., and his sisters, Jean and Jane.

Services and interment will be private.
