Thelma Winifred Linn

Thelma Winifred “Winnie” Linn, 99, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Landisville, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 7, 2026. She was the loving wife of the late Bernard C. Linn, Sr., who passed away in 1990.

Born in Lewistown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Helen (Pry) Peck.

Winnie was a graduate of Lewistown High School. After high school, she was first employed as a dental hygienist in Lewistown. Later in life, Winnie lived in Landisville and was employed as a cafeteria worker for Hempfield School District. She was a long-time season ticket holder for Penn State Football, even before her children attended college there. In 1958, being a wife and mother of four young children, Winnie was awarded the title of Mrs. Lancaster County, an annual homemaking contest, where she had to compete in the areas of personal qualifications, food preparation, management, sewing, and community participation. She was a member of Chiques United Methodist Church, where she did volunteer work for Habitat for Humanity and other organizations.

She is survived by her sons, Bernard (Candace) Linn, Jr., of Lebanon, Wesley (Dorissa Bolinski) Linn, of Elizabethtown, and Timothy (Wanda) Linn, of Chambersburg. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Heidi Malacarne, and she was the last of her siblings.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, August 17, at Chiques United Methodist Church, 1215 East Main Street, Mount Joy, PA 17552, with a time to visit with the family from 10 AM – 11 AM. Interment will be private at Juniata Memorial Park.
