Scott Kupres

Scott “Koop” Kupres, 55, of Mount Joy, formerly of Jersey Shore PA; and Manheim, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at Hershey Medical Center. While his passing leaves an incredible emptiness that cannot be filled, Scott’s life was one marked by love, loyalty, service, and a quiet strength that touched so many people.

Born in Lancaster, Scott was the son of Anthony B. and Barbara Hossler Kupres of Manheim. He was the loving husband of Holly Dawn Heilman Kupres, and above all else, Scott was a very devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend.

Scott was a man who never needed to be the loudest person in the room to make his presence known. He had a quiet strength about him. He was dependable, generous, and the kind of person people knew they could count on. If someone needed help, Scott was there. He cared deeply about his family, his friends, and his community, and he gave of himself without expecting anything in return.

Scott’s working life reflected his hardworking nature. An automotive technician by trade and for most of his life, he also worked in the oil fields for H&P - a job he enjoyed a great deal. The past several years he worked as a road technician for Lift, Inc at both the Mountville and Williamsport locations. Most recently he held the role of Lithium Battery Technician.

Scott was also an all around handyman and there was not much he couldn’t do, fix or build. If there was something - you’d better believe, he’d figure it out.

Service to others was an important part of Scott’s life. For more than a decade, he was an active and faithful member of the Manheim Fire Department, where he served as Assistant Fire Chief. He also served several years with the Waterville Fire Company while living in that area. Scott was proud to serve his community and was always willing to lend a hand. Earlier in life, Scott was a member of St. Richard Catholic Church in Manheim, and in recent years attended LCBC Church, Manheim Campus.

Scott was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He treasured his time with family & friends in Perry County at the “The Wild Bunch Camp”. He also enjoyed hunting right out of his back yard while he lived in Lycoming County. Those days spent at the cabin, in the outdoors (he called “therapy”) and especially teaching his boys to hunt & fish brought him so much joy.

Scott loved to cook and feed his family & friends. It was something that brought him much joy. He held a chef position for a period of time and had even considered opening his own restaurant.

He was also a fiercely loyal sports fan, particularly supporting whatever his boys were involved with at the time. At some points he would take the corner for his youngest son Garrett while wrestling and provide the guidance he needed to win the match. Scott faithfully followed and rooted for his Pittsburgh Steelers and also enjoyed Penn State football & wrestling teams. He had a heart for the Little League World Series and a love for Nascar. He could often be found on a Friday night cheering on the Jersey Shore Bull Dogs. He also enjoyed remembering his own playing days with the Manheim Central Barons, and anyone who knew him could appreciate how easily a conversation could turn into a story about football, a game, or a memory from his younger years.

But Scott took the greatest pride in finding his faith, choosing to put God first in all he did. His family meant everything to him and was always a priority. He loved & cherished his wife, his children, his parents, his brother and nephews, and all those he considered family. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Holly Dawn; his parents, Anthony and Barbara; his sons, Dalton J. Kupres of Manheim and Garrett M. Kupres of Jersey Shore; his stepdaughter, Emily Galeschewski, and stepson, Adam Galeschewski, both of Mount Joy; his brother, Jeremy M., husband of Angela Kupres of Manheim; and his nephews, Owen and Wyatt Kupres.

Scott was preceded in death by his beloved twin son & daughter, Cody and Kayla Kupres.

Those who knew Scott will remember much more than the places he worked, the teams he cheered for, or the many roles he held. They will remember the man who showed up. The husband who loved deeply. The father who cared fiercely. The friend who could be counted on. The firefighter who served his community. The outdoorsman who found happiness & peace at the cabin. And the quiet, steady presence who helped others simply because that was who he was.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service for Scott at LCBC, Church, Manheim Campus, in the West Wing Auditorium, 2392 Mount Joy Road, Manheim, on Friday, August 28, 2026 at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing at the church on Friday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. “PLEASE USE THE AUDITORIUM SOUTH ENTRANCE.” There will also be a viewing at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Thursday evening from 6:00 PM till 7:30 PM. Flowers will be lovingly accepted by the family.  Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
