Ruthanne Keating, 81, of Manheim, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Masonic Village Hospice Home, Elizabethtown. Born on December 17, 1943 in East Lampeter Township, she was the daughter of the late Ruth M. (Felpel) Pietsch and Elwood H. Pietsch. She was the beloved wife of Alan M. Keating with whom she celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on August 31, 2024.
Ruthanne was a 1961 graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School. Ruthanne met Alan at their place of employment, at the former RCA Corporation, where she worked 14 years. She retired from RR Donnelley & Sons in 1998, after 23 years of service.
Ruthanne attended St. Richard Catholic Church, Manheim.
Alan and Ruthanne enjoyed summers in Red Point, MD, at the E.L.K. Cottage, with family and friends, where they spent time making wonderful memories boating, fishing and crabbing on the Chesapeake Bay. Saturday night card games (Pinochle) and a midnight dip in the bay. Ruthanne was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who immensely cherished spending time with her family and grandchildren, Todd, Tara and Braiden.
Later in life she enjoyed spending time close to home, ironing, cleaning, making home cooked meals and preparing our favorite desert Hawaiian Wedding Cake.
Surviving in addition to her husband Alan is a daughter Penny L. Falcon of Willow Street, a son Joseph A. Keating of Manheim, three grandchildren Todd M. High (Brianne), Tara L. Falcon, Braiden S. Keating and two brothers Elwood H. Pietsch, Jr. and Kevin Pietsch. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Judith Cassel and Marilyn Creasy.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Ruthanne’s Memorial Service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at 10:30 am. Friends may visit with the family from 9:30 am until the time of service. Interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send contributions in Ruthanne’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
