Ruth S. Getz

Ruth S. Getz, 90, formerly of Lititz passed away on Friday, October 26, 2012 at Hospice & Community Care, Lancaster. Born in Manor Township, she was the daughter of the late John R. and Anna Shertzer Getz. Retired in 1983, Ruth was a supervisor at Educators Mutual Life Insurance Company, Lancaster for thirty three years. Previously, she worked one year as a sales clerk at the former W.T. Grant Store, Lancaster and six years in the office at the former Gunzenhauser Bakery, Lancaster. She was a member of Denver Mennonite Church. Ruth taught Sunday school and Bible school at Millersville and Lititz area churches and Columbia Missions for several years. Her interests included traveling and photography. Ruth was the last of her immediate family and is survived by several cousins. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna and Frances Getz. Funeral Services will be held at Landis Homes Retirement Community, WEST BETHANY CHAPEL, 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Interment in Trinity United Church of Christ Cemetery, East Petersburg. There will be a public viewing at the chapel on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Please omit flowers.
