Ruth M. Reed

Ruth M. Reed, 98, of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, since 2023, formerly of Manheim, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2026. She was the loving wife of the late Edwin M. Reed, with whom she shared 53 years of marriage at the time of his passing in 2002.

Born in Ephrata, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Anna (Martin) Kilmer and spent the majority of her life in Lancaster County.

Ruth lived an extraordinary life and persevered through challenges that shaped her into the strong, remarkable woman that many knew and loved, giving credit to her enduring love of her Lord and Savior and a faithful prayer life. She worked hard and never hesitated to help others, most noticeable was her devotion to her crippled brothers and ailing husband.

She is survived by a daughter, Donna (Daniel) Riesen, of Cleveland Heights, OH, three grandchildren, Jennifer (Dylan) Zander of Ephrata, Timothy (Cindy) Riesen of Seattle, WA and Michael (Lindsay) Riesen of Atlanta, GA , along with 5 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, her parents, and 8 siblings, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Kish, and grandson, TJ.
