Robert L. “Uncle Bob” Sturgis, 80, of Zephyrhills, Florida, and formerly of Lititz, died peacefully on Tuesday, February 2, 2026 at Solaris Healthcare, Zephyrhills, Fl. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Robert S. and Kathryn Dommy Sturgis. Bob was the loving husband of the late Sandra McLaughlin Sturgis who died in 2000 following 29 years of marriage. He was a 1964 graduate of Warwick High School; and served in the U.S. Navy for four and a half years obtaining the rank of Torpedoman’s Mate Second Class and assisted on the Destroyer USS Lofberg in the South China Sea. Bob retired in 2004 after working many years as a welder for High Steel Industries, Lancaster. He was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lititz; the Lititz Springs VFW Post 1463, and a life member of Lancaster AMVETS Post 19.

Surviving are two sisters: M. Jean Steffy, Marion Wonder both of Lititz, and Nieces and Nephews. Preceding him in death is a sister, Betty Longenecker.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Bob’s graveside service at Machpelah Cemetery, 400 Block of South Broad Street, Lititz, on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 2:00 PM.
