Robert “affectionately known as Bicycle Bob” Miller, 91, of Manheim passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at The Garden of Stevens. Born in Manheim, he was the son of the late Harry P. and Elsie Ditzler Miller. Bob was the husband of the late Marian A. (Miller) Miller who died in 2013.


Bob worked as a seller for Raub Supply for 5 years, a buyer at the former Raymark Industries, Manheim for 28 years and then retired from the Manheim Auto Auction as a dealer assistant for 24 years. He served in the United States Army overseas during the Korean War. Bob also served on the Manheim Boro Council, Park & Pool Commission, Manheim Chamber of Commerce and was the secretary/treasurer for the Manheim Field Commission for 25 years. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Manheim and was a former member of the Manheim VFW Post 5956, Manheim American Legion, Manheim Lions Club and Manheim Jaycees and worked for 42 years as a scoreboard operator in the press box for the Manheim Central Barons football games.


           In his earlier years, he was involved with the FastPitch Church, Men’s Rec Basketball, Men’s Slow Pitch Softball and Men’s and Women’s Volleyball Leagues. Bob also was an ASA umpire for 10 years. He also coached Midget, Jr. Midget, and Legion baseball, Manheim Midget football, and Church Slow Pitch softball teams. Bob also coached two PA State Championships in Class A Men’s and Class A Women’s Slow Pitch softball teams.


           Surviving is a son, Lee husband of Moreen Miller of Shady Shores, Texas and a daughter, Lynn Miller wife of Joan Westenhoefer of Mount Joy. He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry D. Miller.


The family would like to acknowledge the care he received from the entire staff at The Garden at Stevens.


          Funeral Services are private.
