Robert C. Hess

Robert C. “Bob” Hess, 79, of Manheim, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at Mt. Hope Nazarene Retirement Community, Manheim. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Harry C. and Ethel Quinn Hess. Bob was the loving husband of Mary Lou Wolf Hess. He retired as a supervisor after 36 years at Armstrong World Industries, Marietta. Following retirement, Bob managed horse shows featuring Saddlebreds and also Tennessee Walking Horses in PA and VA. He was an avid Hackney pony exhibitor in the roadster division throughout PA, OH, NY, and VA.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Mary Lou, is a son, Gene husband of Dawn Hess of Manheim. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Hess.
