Robert E. Tshudy

January 31, 1924 — February 2, 2010

Robert E. Tshudy, 86, of 130 South Fulton Street Manheim died peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at the Heart Of Lancaster Regional Medical Center Lititz. Born in Penn Township, he was the son of the late William and Ella Hummer Tshudy.

Bob served in the United States Army for twenty-one years obtaining the rank of Major. He proudly served his country during World War II, Korea, and Vietnam Wars and was awarded the Bronze Star and Battlefield Commission Officer Rank. Following his military service he was employed at Big A Auto Parts in Lebanon. He was the husband of Rose E. Alleman Tshudy and they observed their 27th wedding anniversary in May of last year.

Bob was a member of the Mount Joy V.F.W. Post 5752 and a Masonic Lodge in France. Bob was active with Boy Scout Troop 307 Manheim as Pack Leader and currently served as the Treasurer. He enjoyed reading and discussing local, state and national politics and following the National Football League and rooting for the New England Patriots. Bobs favorite time was when he and his wife Rose made their daily visits to the Lititz Family Cupboard Restaurant and spent time with the other restaurant patrons and staff where they were all treated as family.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Robin E. Rohrer of East Petersburg, two sons: William J. King, Charles A, Tshudy both of Manheim, six grandchildren, and a brother, Donald Tshudy of Sabinsville, PA. Preceding him in death are two sons: Gary and Robert Tshudy, a granddaughter, Crystal Marie Rohrer, three brothers: John, Richard and Harvey Tshudy.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service from the Buch Funeral Home 21 Market Square Manheim on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 7:00 PM. Interment is in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville on Wednesday at 11:00 AM. There will be a public viewing at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM until the time of the service.
