            Robert Douglas Doran, 81, of Manheim, succumbed to his fight with cancer at his home on January 1, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Donald and Lois (Cusick) Doran of Toronto, OH and his son, Christopher Douglas Doran of Baltimore, MD. Surviving him are his wife of 44 years, Linda (Zerphey) Doran and three sisters; Donna (David) Schultz of Steubenville, OH, Kathleen Morabeto of Columbus, OH, and Virginia (Art) Myers of Toronto, OH as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

            Robert graduated from Catholic Central High School in Steubenville, OH in 1961. He served in the United States Air Force from 1962 – 1966 where he was stationed at Dover Air Force Base and later Istanbul, Turkey working in administration.

Over his lifetime, Robert was self-employed and ran his own business. However, the last 15 years, before retirement, he worked for Health Network Laboratories as a courier for Lehigh Valley Hospital.

            Robert was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan. It was his true passion. He was very proud of his team, especially when they were victorious over the Eagles.

            The family will hold a private celebration of his life. Interment will be in Mount Joy Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Robert’s name can be made to Hospice & Community Care, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125 or a charity of your choice.
