Phares K. Huber, 74, formerly of Mountville, died Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at the Lancaster General Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Born in East Earl Township, he was the son of the late Phares M. and Lena Kurtz Huber. In his early years Phares farmed in Lancaster County, he then worked in sales in manufactured housing. He was the husband of Emma J. Lehman Huber. Phares was a member of Erisman Mennonite Church, Manheim. He had a passion for gardening.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are seven sons: Nelson L. husband of Sharon Salvatori Huber, Leon L. husband of Corrinne Stehman Huber, Phares L. Huber, David L. husband of Tina Shellenberger Huber all of Manheim, Gary L. Huber of York, James L. Huber of Lancaster, Dale L. husband of Tina Waggoner Huber of Albuquerque, New Mexico, a daughter, Marian L. wife of Jeffrey A. Williams of Elizabethtown, nineteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, four brothers: Christian Huber of Manheim, Melvin husband of Edith Huber of Myerstown, John David husband of Mary Huber of Memphis, Missouri, Martin husband of Esther Huber of Rutledge, Missouri, five sisters: Irma K. wife of David Martin of Rutledge, Missouri, Martha K. Huber, Marian K. Huber all of Terre Hill, Sara Ann wife of Paul Weaver of Myerstown, and Laura K. wife of Enos Showalter of South Wayne, Wisconsin. Preceding him in death are four sisters: Elva, Mary, and Anna Huber, Esther Weaver, and a brother, Lloyd K. Huber. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at the Erisman Mennonite Church, 8 South Erisman Road, Manheim, on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Bill Blank, Pastor Andrew G. Miller, and Pastor Norman G. Shenk officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. There will be a viewing at the Erisman Mennonite Church on Friday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with additional viewing time at the church on Saturday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.
