Patricia E. "Pat" Ibach

Patricia E. “Pat” Ibach, 95, of Manheim, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 21, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved so dearly, at Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy.

Born in Lancaster, Pat was the daughter of the late Wayne and Esther Shreiner Hershey, and was a 1949 graduate of Manheim High School. She was a woman who made a lasting impression on the people around her. Many in the Manheim community fondly remembered her as Miss Manheim in 1950, but those who knew her best will remember her for so much more—for her gentle spirit, kind heart, and the genuine care she showed to everyone she met.

Pat was the loving wife of the late Carl C. Ibach, who passed away in 1994. She was previously married to the late Clair Cassel, who died in 1966. For many years, Pat owned and operated the former Tot-to-Teen Clothing Store in Manheim, where she became a familiar and welcoming presence in the community. She also worked as a receptionist for Miller and Miller Accounting Firm in Lititz.

Her faith was an important part of her life. Pat was a devoted member of Salem United Methodist Church in Manheim, where she taught Sunday school, helped prepare funeral luncheons, and served as an usher. She believed in quietly helping wherever she was needed. In her earlier years, she volunteered at Lancaster General Hospital as one of the Red Cross “Gray Ladies,” and she later gave her time to Meals on Wheels in the Manheim area.

Pat found joy in simple, meaningful things, especially sewing and quilting. She also found great fulfillment in caring for others. Whether helping a neighbor, supporting her church, encouraging a family member, or simply offering a kind word, Pat had a way of making people feel cared for. She never seemed to look for recognition; helping others was simply part of who she was.

Above all, Pat treasured her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth and thoughtfulness touched generations. Her quiet strength, gentle nature, and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Pat is survived by her three daughters, Gail D., wife of James Stouch of Lebanon; Sherry L., wife of Bill Kreiger of York; and Susan J., wife of Richard Whitmire of Danville; six grandchildren: Matt husband of Stacey Nagy, Eric husband of Kelly Stouch, Jayne wife of Rich Pavlik, Jason Kreiger husband of Laura Bosley-Kreiger, Kristina wife of George Barron, Tiffany wife of Heath Zucal, many great-grandchildren and three great great granddaughters. She is also survived by two sisters, Darlene Glass of Wernersville and Sandy, wife of Royal Travitz of Manheim; and a brother, Robert, husband of Pat Hershey of Wrightsville.

In addition to her husbands, Pat was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Hershey, and a sister, Dorothy Fuhrman.

Pat’s life was one of love, faith, family, and service. She left this world having given so much of herself to others, and her memory will live on in the many lives she touched.

A Celebration of Life Service for Pat will be announced at a later date. Interment will be private in Manheim Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in Pat’s memory to: Manheim Food Pantry or Salem United Methodist Church, 140 North Penn Street, Manheim, PA 17545.
