Nancy Lou Schreiner

November 14, 1938 — December 31, 2025

Manheim

Nancy Lou Schreiner Nancy Lou Schreiner, 87, of Manheim, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 31st. She passed away at Pleasant View Communities after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.

Born in Altoona, Nancy was the daughter of the late Adam and Esther (Miner) Erb. Nancy attended Philadelphia College of the Bible, where she focused on Biblical studies and voice. She was gifted with a beautiful singing voice. She returned to Altoona on college break and met her loving husband, Klaus Schreiner. They were married in November 1958 and shared a devoted and happy life together, traveling the world and creating a beautiful family.

She is survived by her four children: Michael and wife, Janan, of Maple Grove, MN; Heidi Vukov and husband, Gary, of Myrtle Beach, SC; Roger Paul and wife, Lori, of Philomath, OR; and Eric of Lititz, eight grandchildren: Joshua (Randi), Matthew (Courtney), Bryan, Alexandra (Jimmy), Andreea (Fida), Ben, Adam (Maritza) and Jeffrey; eight great grandchildren: Lily, Rose, Olivia, James, Zara, Leo, Heidi, Eloise; a younger sister, Judith Seltzer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Klaus; her brother, Richard Erb; and her sister, Joann Imler. Nancy was a deeply loving wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her home was always warm and welcoming, filled with the comforting aromas of meals and desserts she spent all day preparing. She loved entertaining family, friends, and her children’s teammates with elaborate dinners, decadent desserts, and infectious hospitality.

Her generosity extended beyond her home through her involvement with AFS (American Field Service), where she helped welcome and support students from around the world into local schools and the community.

Nancy had an eye for beautiful things and history, which led to her passion for antiques and the creation of her own business. She embraced new challenges, including learning computers and technology, to the surprise of her grandchildren.

In her free time, Nancy found joy in her garden, planting, pruning and potting new life. Peonies were her favorite flower, a fitting reflection of her grace and elegance. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Coleman Memorial Chapel, 1980 Furnace Hills Pike, Lititz, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 8th Avenue, 16th Floor, New York, NY, 10001.
