Nancy S. "Nan" Gibble

Nancy S. “Nan” Gibble, 92, of Manheim, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Pleasant View Communities. Born in Manheim, she was the daughter of the late Melvin T. and Sara Garner Shank. Nan was a 1951 graduate of Manheim High School. She was the loving wife of the late Cletus L. Gibble, who preceded her in death in February 2006 after 53 years of marriage.

In 2011, Nan retired from the Manheim Auto Auction, where she worked part-time in the clerical department for 25 years. She was a faithful and active member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Manheim, serving on the Memorial Garden Committee, serving as a greeter at church, and participating in Women’s Retreats throughout the years. Previously, she was a 50-year member of Salem United Methodist Church, Manheim. Nan loved walking, cycling, quilting, working on jigsaw puzzles, and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed attending Quest for Learning adult education classes for many years.

With a true servant’s heart for both her church and community, Nan volunteered as an EMT with the Manheim Ambulance Association and served as a Red Cross volunteer at Lancaster General Hospital for 10 years. In recognition of her dedication and volunteer service, she received the “Service to Mankind Award” from the Manheim Sertoma Club in 1981.

Surviving are two daughters: Bethany Gibble Rosenberg wife of Theodore Rosenberg of Lititz, Paige Gibble Parks wife of Samuel E. Parks Jr. of Penryn, two sons: Alan D. Gibble of Lititz, Matthew C. husband of Pam Gibble of Broomfield, CO, and a grandson, Benjamin Gibble of Broomfield, CO. Preceding her in death is a daughter-in-law, Martha J. Gibble, a brother, M. Thomas Shank, and three sisters: Margaret Shank, S. Jean Miller, and M. Joyce Shank.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Nan’s Celebration of Life Service in Hoffer Auditorium at Pleasant View Communities, 544 North Penryn Road, Manheim, on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private in Chiques Cemetery, Manheim.
