Menno Richard Stoner, 91, of Annville and formerly of Manheim passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Kindred Place at Annville. Born in Manheim on May 10, 1934, he was the son of the late Harvey and Martha Carpenter Stoner. He was the loving husband of Betty Lou Myers Stoner and they observed their 17th wedding anniversary this past January and his first wife the late Marilyn E. Merkel Stoner who died in 2006. Menno retired as a custodian for Calvary Church, Lancaster in 1999. He was a 1952 graduate of Manheim Central High School and proudly served in the United States Army. Menno was a member of St. Paul’s UCC, Manheim and a former member of Calvary Church, Lancaster. Menno enjoyed golfing, gardening, camping, grilling, woodworking, drawing and listening to classical music, and most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be remembered as a man that loved the Lord with a true heart of service toward all he encountered.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Betty Lou, are four children, Myron B. Stoner of York, Maury L. Stoner of Ephrata, Melaine V. Downs wife of Calvin of Littleton, CO, and Meade A. Stoner husband of Michelle of Lancaster, step-son, Russell Scott Brown husband of Shari and step-daughter, Beth Ann Myers wife of Jay both of MD, 10 grandchildren – Shane, Derek, Alita, Carissa, Jelijah, Margaret, Isaiah, Emily, Olivia, Abe, 10 great grandchildren and three siblings, Betty Sholly wife of Arthur, Douglas Stoner husband of Linda, and Samuel Stoner husband of Terry all of Manheim. He was preceded in death by a brother, Rev. Rodney Stoner.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Menno’s Funeral Service at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 50 North Main Street, Manheim on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing at the church on Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment in Manheim Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send contributions in Menno’s memory to St. Paul’s UCC, P.O. Box 129, Manheim, PA 17545.
