Mary S. Shenk

Mary S. Shenk, 94, of Mountville, died on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at her home. She was the wife of Vernon B. Shenk of Mountville whom she married March 3, 1956. Born in Lancaster on December 2, 1930, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Kauffman) Snyder.

Mary was a order filler for AMP, Inc. She enjoyed camping, and was a collector of pencils and wood carvings. Mary attended LCBC. She was active in Scouting and was named Den Mother of the Year. Mary was in a slow-pitch women’s softball league and felt more comfortable on a tractor than in the kitchen.

In addition to her husband, Mary is survived by three sons, Vernon E. Shenk (Tanya) of Newport, Larry A. Shenk (Jamie) of Marietta, Richard S. Shenk (Rose) of Silver Springs; seven grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a brother Ken Snyder of Mountville. She was preceded in death by a brother John Snyder.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 10:00 am at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim. A viewing will be held Friday from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Chiques Cemetery.
