Mary K. Strack, 65, of 113 South Charlotte Street Manheim died peacefully at home on Sunday, December 27, 2009 after a long illness.
Born in Manheim, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Ruth Haldeman Funk. She was the wife of Gary R. Strack and they celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary in July of this year.
Mary worked twenty-four years for the Manheim Borough as treasurer and bookkeeper. She was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Vietnam War. Mary was a member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church, Manheim. In earlier part of her life, she served as treasurer at the church. Her interests included walking and knitting.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a son, David G. husband of Belinda Strack of Ashville, North Carolina; a daughter, Melissa K. wife of Matt Sexton of Sporting Hill; five grandchildren; four brothers, Frank husband of Sandy Funk of Manheim, Larry husband of Gina Funk of Mount Joy, Jack Funk and Jim Funk, both of Manheim; two sisters, Jean wife of Harry Miller of Manheim and Karen Moss of Lebanon.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Memorial Service at St. Pauls Episcopal Church 90 South Charlotte Street Manheim on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 2:00 PM with Father Sud Tiwar officiating. Interment in Memory Gardens, Ephrata. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of service.
