Mary L. Dixon Gage

October 6, 1929 — February 10, 2026

Lititz

Mary L. Dixon Gage, 96, of Lititz, and formerly of Upstate New York, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the presence and love of her family, on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at the Mt. Hope Nazarene Retirement Community, Manheim, PA.

Born on October 6, 1929, in Utica, NY, and raised in Clark Mills, NY, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Dora Richer Dixon.

Mary gave her life to Jesus and walked with Him for over 50 years. She would want all who read this to know that He was a good and faithful Savior to her until the very end.

Mary lost her mother at the age of three, but despite that profound loss, she became an exceptional mother. She worked hard to make much out of little, all to provide a better life for her children. Her door was always open to friends and family to stop by and enjoy a cup of coffee and conversation—and many gladly took her up on that invitation.

When the grandchildren came along, she packed the entire family into her tiny home for the holidays, baking a dizzying array of Christmas cookies and somehow finding a place for everyone to sit. She deeply loved her sweet husband, the late Charles Gage, who passed away in November 2008 following 34 years of marriage. Together, Mary and Charles created a warm and welcoming home for all.

In 2009, Mary moved south to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, to be near her daughter Donna and her family. They enjoyed many years of doing life together. When she was no longer able to live independently, she moved to the Mt. Hope Nazarene Retirement Community, where Donna and her family continued to be closely involved in her care and life. She was also blessed with dear friends from outside the community, as well as friends within Mt. Hope who will greatly miss her.

Mary’s life was a quiet testimony of faithfulness—faithfulness to her Savior, to her family, and to the simple, sacred work of loving others well. She did not seek recognition, but her steady prayers, warm hospitality, and sacrificial love shaped generations. Her legacy is not only in the family she cherished, but in the faith she lived daily and the welcome she extended to all who crossed her threshold.

Surviving is a son, David husband of Susan Zelie of Barrington, NH, two daughters: Dale wife of Richard Rima of Parish, NY, and Donna wife of Robert Trubiano of Lititz, seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter. Preceding her in death is a brother, Albert Dixon Jr. and a sister, Alice Morris.

Services for Mary will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Oak View Cemetery, Frankfort, New York.
