Mary E. Brown

Mary E. Brown, 92, of Manheim went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Lancaster General Hospital, surrounded by her family. Born in Paradise Township, she was the daughter of the late J. Earl and Mary Miller Rice. She was the wife of the late Alan R. Brown who passed away in 2025. She was previously married to the late Ray V. Houck until his passing in 1967. For many years, Mary was a seamstress and previously worked in manufacturing. She attended Manheim Grace Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Sonja Froelich and her husband, John, of Lancaster, Sherri Forrey and her husband, George, of Manheim, two grandsons, Jared and his wife Erica, of Columbia and Cameron, of Charlottesville, VA and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Joseph Rice and his wife, Edna, of Brownstown. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Kay Reinhart and Jean DeVerter.

Mary deeply loved her family, especially her grandsons and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Stroke Association or Water Street Mission.

Funeral Services will be private, at the convenience of the family.
