Mary Anna Haldeman

October 18, 1930 — February 5, 2010

Mary Anna Haldeman, 79, of 223 North Strickler Road Manheim, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, February 5, 2010 at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mount Joy. Born in Arcadia, Fl., she was the daughter of the late Clarence A. and Anna G. Westheffer Lamb. Mary Anna was the loving wife of Frank M. Haldeman and they observed their 61st wedding anniversary this past Thursday. She along with her husband was the owner and operator of the Mount Vernon Motel and Ridgewood Manor Mobile Home Park both located in the Manheim area. They also assisted their son manage Ridgewood Manor II in Delaware. She was a member of East Fairview Church of the Brethren Manheim where she sang in the choir. A wonderful homemaker, her interests included: knitting, crocheting, home sewing, cooking, baking, gardening and fishing.

Marys husbandFrank was very vigilant, staying by Marys bedside comforting and encouraging her throughout her illness. In the days before her passing family and friends gathered day and night playing music, singing, and reminiscing about the past, laughing, crying, and praying for her journey home.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters: Nancy L. wife of Norman D. Minnick, Loretta S. wife of John Dodson II all of Manheim, two sons, Melvin T. husband of Beverly Haldeman of Smyrna Del., Richard E. husband of Terri Tucker Haldeman of Manheim, eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, two sisters: Erma wife of Howard Bennet of Trenton, Fl., Marie wife of Bud Proffet of La Belle, Fl.Preceding her in death is a brother James Lamb.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service from the East Fairview Church of the Brethren 1187 Fairview Road Manheim on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jimm A. Roland and Pastor Wilbur G. Lehman officiating. Interment is in the adjoining church cemetery. There will be a public viewing at the Buch Funeral Home 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Friday evening from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM with additional viewing time on Saturday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of the service at the church. Please omit flowers.
