Marguerite C. “Peggy” Murry, 99, of Lititz passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Maple Farm Nursing Center, Akron. Born in Manheim, November 2, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Milton and Nettie Hummer Cassel, and sibling to three brothers and six sisters. She was the loving wife of the late Elmer M. Murry who died in 2007. A homemaker, Peggy also worked as a cook and in food services for the Garden Spot Auto Auction for about thirty years. She attended Grace Baptist Church of Lancaster. She spent many summers hosting city children through the Fresh Air Fund organization. She faithfully visited many shut-in friends and relatives over the years. Her faith in Christ was the core of her life and she freely expressed that to most anyone she knew. Her life was an expression of her faith. In recent years she developed her “Grandma Moses” type artwork as a regular hobby. She loved gardening of any kind and including the beautiful flower gardens she tended over the years. She loved nature – birds, bunnies, and especially cardinals and hummingbirds!
