Lyle P. Cunningham, 85, of Manheim, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 8, 2026, at UPMC Hospital in Lititz.

Born in Elizabethtown, Lyle was the son of the late Raymond L. and Marian (Linhart) Cunningham. He shared a loving marriage with his wife, Truda L. (Schnably) Cunningham, and together they enjoyed nearly 19 wonderful years of marriage. Their anniversary would have been celebrated this October. Lyle was previously married to the late Carol Cunningham, who passed away in 2006.

A proud patriot and devoted Marine, Lyle considered it one of the greatest honors of his life to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps. The values he learned through military service—dedication, leadership, and commitment to others—remained with him throughout his life.

Lyle spent more than 30 years as a supervisor with the former Raymark Industries in Manheim. Retirement did not slow him down. He continued serving his community as a courier for Union National Bank and later worked as a personal trainer at Pleasant View Communities, where he enjoyed encouraging others to stay active and healthy.

A faithful member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manheim, Lyle was also deeply involved in veterans' organizations. His fellow veterans entrusted him with leadership roles as Commander of Manheim American Legion Post 419 and Commander of Manheim VFW Post 5956. He was also a proud member of Ephrata Amvets Post 136. Whether in uniform or in civilian life, Lyle was always willing to step forward and serve.

Family and friends knew Lyle as a man who valued relationships and enjoyed life's simple pleasures. One of his greatest joys was spending time on the golf course with Truda. Together they shared countless rounds of golf, treasured outings, and lasting memories with friends.

In addition to his wife, Truda, Lyle is survived by his son, Lyle P. Cunningham Jr. of Collegeville; his daughter, Angela Wisner and her husband, Robert, of York; six grandchildren, Robert Jr., Dylan, Logen, Cayden, Ava, and Olivia; and two great-grandchildren, Gabriella and Axel. He is also survived by three stepchildren, Kathi Musser and her husband, Dennis, of Holtwood, James David Lewis and his wife, Karen, of Pequea, and Kevin MacNutt of Harrisonburg, Virginia; a brother, Raymond Cunningham and his wife, Connie, of Florida; and a sister, Barbara Burkett of Middletown.

In addition to his parents and his previous wife, Carol, Lyle was preceded in death by his brother, Lester Cunningham.

Lyle will be remembered for his strong sense of duty, his leadership, his devotion to family, and the friendships he built throughout his life. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
