Larry L. Jones

Larry L. Jones, 70, lifelong resident of Mount Joy, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Larry T. and Mildred E. Funk Jones. Larry was a 1962 graduate of Donegal High School and a 1966 graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Following graduation, he worked at the former RCA until his retirement. Larry’s real passion in life was composing music and playing in a Rock and Roll band “The Rock Bottom” with his friends Andy Geist and Maris Zedonis. Larry was also a DJ as the “Piped Piper” for a few years.
Larry was survived by his sister, Bonita L. wife of John Thompson, nephew, Kyle D. husband of Belinda Mabry, great niece, Megan Mabry fiancée of Jared Hollinger and a great great nephew, David J. Hollinger.
Larry’s family wishes to thank all of his wonderful caregivers at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy.
A memorial service will be held at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 10:30 AM. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
