Karen L. Frey (Blevins), 73, of Lancaster, died peacefully on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late George and Grace Musselman Frey. For many years Karen worked as a Care Giver for Lancaster Regional Hospice. Throughout her life she was a passionate supporter for children of all ages, especially foster children. Karen served as a volunteer for a Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children “CASA of Lancaster” and received Volunteer of the Year award in 2017. She enjoyed flower gardening, and rooting for her Dallas Cowboys. Karen had a servant’s heart. She deeply loved her family and always wanted to reach out and help others that she came in contact with that had no one to help them.
Surviving is a son, Robert husband of Lynn Derr of Mechanicsburg, a daughter, Stephanie wife of Tommy Manan of Upper Marlboro, MD, three grandchildren: Abigail, Seth, Brianis, and a brother, Richard P. Frey of Manheim.
Services for Karen will be private and at the convenience of the family.
