Judy Kay Deppen

May 26, 1949 — June 24, 2024

Lititz

Judy Kay (Spicher) Deppen, 75, of Lititz PA, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, June 24, 2024. Born in Harrisburg on May 26, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Donald L. and Betty A. (Kissinger) Spicher. Judy was a 1967 graduate of Upper Dauphin Area High School. She was a licensed practical nurse, working in hospitals, a doctor’s office, and nursing homes until her retirement in 2013. She enjoyed word puzzles, reading, watching sports, and baking – including her famous chocolate chip cookies.

She was committed to her church, family, and community. With a uniquely generous heart, Judy connected with and cared for her friends every day, and she made new friends wherever she went. Judy would want to thank each and every one of them for being a friend. She absolutely loved her family and was always ready to share a story about them.

A faithful servant of God, she embodied Matthew 22: 36-39 – “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind. This is the greatest commandment. The second is to love your neighbor as yourself.”

Judy is survived by four children, Stephanie Deppen of Lititz, James and his wife Nicola (Miller) Deppen of Manheim, Benjamin and his wife Kami (Longenecker) Deppen of Manheim, Matthew and his wife Karleen (Eichelman) Deppen of East Petersburg; eleven grandchildren – Elise, Aiden, Meg, Mia, Ella, Alicia, Melissa, Jordan, Natalie, Colin and Avery; two great-grandchildren – Carter and Cameron; two sisters - Tami Buffington of Elizabethville, Brenda Dauberman and her husband Louis of Wiconisco.

She was preceded in death by a brother Eugene Spicher and a brother-in-law Paul Buffington, Sr.
