Jonathan D. “Jon” Evans, 68, of Manheim, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, surrounded by his family. Jon will be remembered for his humor and love for his family.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Doug and Joan Earhart Evans and a 1976 graduate of Manheim Central High School. Jon shared 38 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Pam.

For 45 years, Jon worked in the Cold Rolling Mill at Arconic Mill Products in Lancaster, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. Jon loved life especially cooking, traveling, gardening, and fossil hunting on the Chesapeake Bay. Jon’s greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a longtime member of the Manheim Sportsmen’s Association. He was a former member of Trinity United Church of Christ of Palmyra.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Pam, a son, J.C. husband of Julie Evans of Palmyra, a daughter, Jennifer M. Evans spouse of Trevor Carr of Minneapolis, three grandchildren, and a brother, Curtis D. Evans of Mechanicsburg. Preceding him in death is a sister, Leslie C. Evans.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Jon’s Celebration of Life Service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Friday, May 29, 2026 at 10:30 AM. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Friday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Manheim Fairview Cemetery.
