Jodell R. "Jody" Trout, 64, of Fleetwood, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Reading Hospital.
Born on October 19, 1960, in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late John K. and Mary Pauline (Church) Root, and was lovingly raised by her grandparents, Earl and Esther Root. Their influence shaped her generous heart, strong will, and deep devotion to family. Jody spent most of her career in retail sales and the restaurant industry, where her warm smile and vibrant personality left a lasting impression on coworkers and customers alike. She especially enjoyed her time as a saleswoman for Baldwin Brass, where she built lasting relationships and took pride in her work. Jody was a devoted mother and proud grandmother, known for her generous spirit and fierce loyalty. She adored her three granddaughters—and loved taking them on “staycations” at local hotels, where swimming pools and sleepovers turned into treasured memories. She also shared a love of travel with her longtime companion, Kenneth Johnson. Together, they spent much of their time exploring new places, creating memories, and enjoying life’s adventures. Whether she was posting on social media, planning her next getaway, or laughing over dinner and wine with family, Jody embraced life with energy and heart. Her warmth, kindness, and generous soul will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughters, Kecia Kur and husband Ryan of Morgantown, Kelsey Trout of Fleetwood, and Kimberly Trout of Lebanon; her brother, John K. Root of Florida; her beloved granddaughters, Kendall, Parker, and Jordyn; and her loving companion, Kenneth Johnson.
