Herbert C. “Herb” Weidman, 89, of Manheim passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at Neffsville Nursing & Rehabilitation. Born in Manheim, he was the son of the late Elmer B. and Amanda N. Ulrich Weidman. Herb retired as Chief of Police for Penn Township Police Department and was a Constable for Rapho Township for eight years. In his earlier years, Herb worked on his family farm, was employed for 12 years at Weidman Brothers Eggs and was a security officer for Skyview Drive-In. He enjoyed hunting, football and NASCAR racing.
Surviving is a son, Herbert A. Weidman of Lititz, two daughters, Barbara McComsey and Sharon Becker both of Manheim, 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Cynthia Barto and Darlene Lundvall, a grandson, Kyle McComsey and seven siblings, Harvey, Leroy, Harold and Lester Weidman, Edna Huber, Dorothy Young and Esther Wilson.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Herb’s Funeral Service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing from 10:00 Am until the time of service. Interment in Manheim Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send contributions in Herb’s memory to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116.
