Harold M. Kready

Harold M. Kready, 90, of Manheim passed away peacefully at home with family singing him into heaven’s gates on Friday, May 22, 2026. Born in Rapho Township, he was the son of the late Norman B. and Elva Martin Kready. He was the loving husband of Doris J. Leaman Kready and they would have observed their 66th wedding anniversary in August. Harold owned and operated his farm in Rapho Township. He was a member of Chiques Church, Manheim.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sisters, Erma Wenger of Manheim, Miriam wife of J. Titus Reiff of Ephrata, sister-in-law, Ruth E. Kready of Manheim and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Martin M. Kready and a brother-in-law, John C. Wenger.

Harold was a videographer that videoed hundreds of weddings for family and friends through the years. He loved hymn sings and gospel music. He planned many canoe trips with youth groups and boys clubs and nieces and nephews. Harold was a very active man who was still skiing in his 80’s. He led snowmobile trips to Yellowstone for 30 years creating fun memories for many. Harold and Doris travelled the world together visiting over 50 countries and loved sharing all the memories through videos. In the past year he was able to fulfill a desire of his by writing a book of his memoirs. Harold was a man who was always looking for another adventure. He lived his life to the fullest and lived out his Christian life by being a wonderful example of how to prepare to meet his creator.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Harold’s Funeral Service at Chiques Church, 4045 Sunnyside Road, Manheim on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at 10:30 AM. There will be a viewing at the church on Thursday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Interment in Erisman Mennonite Cemetery, Manheim.
