George H. Haldeman, 101, of Manheim, died peacefully, Monday, November 17, 2025 at Lebanon V.A. Medical Center. He was the loving husband of Anna May (Shaub) and they celebrated 75 years of marriage before her passing in 2018. Born in Sunhill (Lititz), he was the son of the late George H. Sr. and Elizabeth Y. (Korte) Haldeman. He worked in the dry-cleaning business for several years before starting his career with Electrolux Sales and Services, and he retired when he was 92. George was drafted and proudly served with the Army Air Force in 1943, he was trained in special purposes vehicles, and served with the 502nd bomb group, and the 430th bomb on Guam, where he met the crew of the Enola Gay.
His joy in life beside his family was helping people, and often giving large discounts to families in need.
Surviving are two daughters Georgiann H. Shertzer, Elizabethtown, Mary wife of John Enck, Jim Thrope; a son David husband of Susan Haldeman, Princeton, TX; 3 grandchildren Stacey, Chrie, and Christopher; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Ross and Max Haldeman.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his public visitation at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Friday, November 21 2025 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM.
