George C. Bennett

  George C. Bennett, 96, of Manheim, and formerly of Lebanon, died peacefully on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at Pleasant View Communities. Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Augustine and Margaret Miller Bennett. George was the loving husband of Ellen Kreider Bennett and they observed their 28th wedding anniversary this month; his first wife was the late Ruth Ann Kohr Bennett who died in 1996. George retired from Metropolitan Edison after working many years with the company. A proud veteran, George served in the United States Army. He attended the United Church of Christ in Lebanon. His interests included, fishing, oil painting, and was a passionate Boxing Fan.

  Surviving in addition to his wife, Ellen, are two step sons: John and Joseph Eberly, a step daughter, Janice Stoltzfus, eight step grandchildren, four step great grandchildren, and a brother, Richard Bennett of Stevens. Preceding him in death is a brother, Robert Bennett.

  Services for George will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in George’s memory to: Pleasant View Communities Benevolent Care Fund, 544 North Penryn Road, Manheim, PA 17545.
