Francis J. “Frank” Darin, 75, of Elverson, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Reading Hospital. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Frank and Bernedette (Mallozzi) Darin. Frank was a 1969 graduate of St. Thomas More High School in Philadelphia and went on to attend Temple University.
Frank was the devoted and loving husband of Karen M. (Merkey) Darin, with whom he shared nearly 50 years of marriage. Together, they built a life grounded in love, laughter, and steadfast companionship, and would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this September.
He proudly served his country in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard from 1971 to 1993, demonstrating a deep sense of duty and commitment. Following his military service, Frank worked for many years at Tursack Printing Company in Morgantown, where he was known for his strong work ethic and reliability.
Frank found his greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life—especially time spent with loved ones along the shores of Long Beach Island, New Jersey, where boating and beach days created lasting memories. He had a lifelong passion for classic cars, with a special place in his heart for Chevrolets, particularly the iconic Chevrolet Corvette. Whether admiring, restoring, or simply talking about cars, it was a passion he carried with enthusiasm and pride. Frank will be remembered for his quiet strength, his loyalty to those he loved, and the many moments of joy he shared with family and friends.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Karen, are two daughters, Gina M. Darin companion of Jason Crossan of Perryville, MD, Marie D. Darin of Elverson, and a grandson, Blake Cunningham.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Frank’s funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will in Chiques Cemetery, Manheim. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in Frank’s memory to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.
