Evelyn L. Snyder

     Evelyn L. Snyder, 88, formerly of Mount Joy, died peacefully, on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at Abbeyville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Lancaster. She was the loving wife of the late Robert E. Snyder who died in 1993. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Walter A. and Sara S. (Rittenhouse) McComsey. Evelyn was a retired payroll clerk for the New Standard Corp. of Mount Joy. She was a cherished member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, Mount Joy where she sang in the choir for many years. Evelyn was musically inclined, loved listening to gospel, and enjoyed playing both the piano and the organ. She also always had a kazoo handy with which to serenade anyone she encountered who was having a birthday.

     Surviving are three sons, Gordon L. Walton, Colorado Springs, CO, Charles E. Walton, Lancaster, Thomas E. Walton Sr., Kailua, HI; two step-children, Robin S., wife of James W. Halter, Elizabethtown; Scott E. Snyder, Mount Joy; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her three sisters, Patricia A. Hallacher, Susan J. Ortega, and Barbara J. Keperling.

     A graveside service for Evelyn will be held at Manheim Fairview Cemetery, 98 West Sun Hill Road, Manheim, on Saturday August 30, 2025 at 10:00 AM.
