Elaine M. Bowersox

Elaine M. Bowersox, 85, formerly of Lancaster, died peacefully, Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Columbia Cottage, Palmyra. She was the loving wife of Larry L. Bowersox, and they celebrated 65 years of marriage this past April 16th. Born in Millmont, she was the daughter of the late Margaret Walter. Elaine worked in the safety Dept. for Ryder Truck Rental for over 30 years before retiring. She was a faithful member of Chiques Church, Mount Joy. She loved the Lord and assisted with coordinated many ministries at the church, such as the Elderberries, the Prayer Shawl ministry, and holiday bazaars. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking, baking, crocheting, as well as being an avid doll collector.

Surviving in addition to her husband Larry are two children, Debra, wife of Chuck Reamy, Lancaster SC, Kyle, husband of Ashley Bowersox, Morristown TN; two granddaughters Heather Badders (Sean), Christina Fowler (Bobby); five great-grandchildren Sofia, Hannah, Luke, Landry, Callen; a brother Timothy, husband of Teresa Berger, Mount Pleasant Mills; and two sisters Karen, wife of Ronald Kratzer, Middleburg, and Cheryl, wife of Terry Shaffer, Mount Pleasant Mills. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a brother Gary, husband of Anne Berger.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at Chiques Church, 1215 E. Main Street, Mount Joy, on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM. There will be a time of viewing and visitation at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment following the service will be in Penns Creek Union Cemetery, Penns Creek PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Elaine’s memory may be sent to Chiques Church at the above address.
