Earl L. Landis

Earl N. Landis, 83, of Manheim, passed away on August 4, 2026 at the Lancaster General Hospital. Earl was born on December 8, 1942 to the late Earl S. and Emma (Nissley) Landis. He grew up on the family farm in Manheim, where he eventually settled to raise a family and operate a dairy farm and guest house. He was the husband of Evelyn (Todd) Landis, celebrating 62 years of marriage in October. Together they had four children, Marilyn Martin Karker (Glenn), Deb Landis (Jeff), Marvin (Dori), and Gary (Jen).

As an avid dairy farmer, Earl was a member of the Manheim Young Farmers chapter, and his farm earned a Dairy of Distinction award. He enjoyed hosting visitors and guests on the farm, helping them to learn about dairy cows and to experience the rhythms of farm life. After retiring from farming, he worked several years for Fisher and Thompson, Inc.

He was a member at Ephrata Community Church. Throughout Earl's life, he served as a prayer minister, trustee, and in various service projects. He regularly read his Bible and prayed for every family member. He wanted each one to love and serve Jesus, continuing his legacy of faith. Earl is remembered for his gift of hospitality and ability to talk with anyone, how much he enjoyed ice cream and winning miniature golf games, milking cows, doggie roasts, and barrel train rides on the farm, and his love for outings and trips with family and friends.

Earl is survived by his wife, children, and 16 grandchildren: Katilyn Weaver (Phil), Colleen Landis, Joshua Martin (Jessica), Corissa Snyder (Sheldon), Kirsten Ortega (Alejandro), Jeremy Landis (Alyssa), Joseph Martin, Krystal Sauder (Zach), Jackson Landis, Katrina Martin, Callie Landis, Katurah Martin, Carson Landis, Brennan Landis, Eve Landis, and Madison Landis. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren (with three more on the way). Additionally, he is survived by his sisters, Anna Mae Deiter (Elvin), Mildred Shellenberger, and brother Abe Landis (Dottie).

He was preceded in death by grandchildren Kyle, Jordan, and Joelyn Martin, son-in-law Mark A. Martin, and sister Grace Faus.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Earl’s Funeral Service at Ephrata Community Church, 70 Clay School Road, Ephrata on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing at the church on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of service (please use the North Entrance). Interment in East Petersburg Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mennonite Disaster Service, 583 Airport Road, Lititz, PA 17543 and to Global Disciples, 315 West James Street, Suite 202, Lancaster, PA 17603.
