Donald L. “Beep” Wier, 95, of Lititz, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025, surrounded by family. He was the beloved husband of Marian S. (Shelley) Wier, with whom he shared 74 years of marriage.
Born in Lititz on February 21, 1930, Beep was the son of the late Clarence and Esther (Whitcraft) Wier.
Beep was a vocational school teacher at CTC Electronics and served in the Naval Reserve as a Radioman. Early in his life, he was a HAM radio operator. He was a longtime member of the Lititz Moravian Congregation, where he served as an usher and assisted with the church newsletter. His community involvement also included membership in the Lititz Lions Club, the National Education Association (NEA), the National Rifle Association (NRA), and various sportsmens’ associations.
An avid outdoorsman, Beep enjoyed hunting, fishing, birdwatching, canoeing, photography, and spending time at Fox Den, a cabin in Fulton County. He also loved playing Dominoes with friends and family, never missing a Thursday session.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Stephen D. Wier, husband of Debra Wier; daughter Debra J. Miller, wife of Barry Miller; a sister, Cynthia Breininger of Waynesboro; five grandchildren—Adam, Eric, Greg, Jason, and Lauren—and four great-grandchildren—Brayden, Rowan, Dakota, and Dylan.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you take a friend fishing, spend time in nature, or take some photographs to share.
