Donald L. Steely Sr.

January 16, 1938 — May 2, 2010

Donald L. Steely, Sr. 72, of Manheim, died Sunday May 2, 2010 at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mount Joy, PA. He was the husband of the late Shirley I. (Meiskey) Steely who died January 2008. Born in Brunnerville, Warwick Twp., he is the son of Dorothy (Ruth) Steely of Lititz and the late Paul K. Steely who died in 1988. Don was a mill operator for 44 years at Alcoa Mill Products of Lancaster before retiring. He was a lifetime member of the NRA, a member of the Germania Band Club of Manheim, and enjoyed collecting guns.



Surviving is a son Donald L. Jr., husband of Stacey (Aaron) of Lancaster; four daughters Kim Elaine Kimani of Lancaster, Linda Keisling of Bowmansville, Victoria Steely of Manheim, Christina wife of Theron Schlotzhauer of Lititz; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two brothers Barry Steely of Lititz, Douglas Steely of Lancaster; and three sisters Brenda wife of Frank Gantz of Manheim; Sandra Lefever of Pequea, and Beverly wife of Jeffrey Morrison of Columbia. In addition to his wife and father, he was preceded in death by a stepson Melvin Meiskey and a brother Paul Steely, Jr.



Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service from the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim PA, on Thursday May 6, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor James R. Bamberger officiating. Interment will be in Brunnerville United Methodist Cemetery. There will be a public viewing on Wednesday evening at the Buch Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dons memory may be sent to Hospice of Lancaster County, P.O. Box 4125 Lancaster PA 17604.
