Dennis L. "Denny" Balmer

    Dennis L. “Denny” Balmer, 74, of Manheim, died peacefully on Sunday, June 15, 2025 at UPMC York Memorial Hospital. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Abel B. and Gladys Geib Balmer. Denny was the loving husband of Rosene G. “Rose” Myers Balmer and they would have observed their 52nd wedding anniversary in September of this year. For over 45 years, Denny worked at FL Smidth Company, Manheim, working his way up from a machine operator to a Quality Control Manager. He was a member of Germania Band Club, Manheim. Denny enjoyed spending time at the family cabin in Potter County, watching his favorite NASCAR driver, Jeff Gordon when he was actively racing; and always rooting for his Pittsburg Steelers Football Team.

   Surviving in addition to his wife, Rose, are two daughters: Ashley Balmer of Mount Joy, Angela Balmer of Manheim, and two grandsons, Ethan Longenecker, and Dillan Longenecker. Preceding him in death was a sister, Carol Ober.

    Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Denny’s Memorial Service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at 3:00 PM. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 PM until the time of the service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
