David M. Shelly

David M. Shelly, 96, of Manheim, died on Sunday, July 27, 2025 at United Zion Retirement Community, Lititz. He was the husband of Ruth G. (Kulp) Shelly of Manheim to whom he was married for 70 years. Born in Manheim on February 10, 1929, he was the son of the late Henry and Anna (Miller) Shelly.

David was a farmer and enjoyed hunting. He was a member of East Fairview Church.

In addition to his wife, David is survived by a son David Shelly, Jr. (Faye) of Manheim; a daughter Deb Schompert of Manheim; a brother Orval Shelly (Pat) of Manheim; four sisters Rhoda Shelly of Manheim, Fannie Shelly of Manheim, Anna Mary Stoner of Quentin, Kathryn Saylor (Stanley) of Lancaster; three grandchildren Michael Schompert (Jennifer), Douglas Shelly, Bryan Shelly; and three great grandchildren Calleigh, Noah, and Brielle Schompert. He was preceded in death by a son Dale K. Shelly and a sister Ruth Shelly.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025 at 11:00 am at East Fairview Church,1187 Fairview Road, Manheim. A viewing will be held Friday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the Church. Burial will be in East Fairview Church Cemetery.
