David T. Hershey, 90, of Lititz and formerly of East Petersburg, peacefully entered his eternal home on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Landis Homes Retirement Community. Surrounded by care and comfort, Dave finished his earthly journey and was joyfully welcomed into Heaven by the Savior he loved and served so faithfully.
Born in Conestoga to Park and Edna Thomas Hershey, Dave grew up with a steady foundation of faith, hard work, and devotion to family—values that shaped the man he became. He shared 39 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Susan Martin Hershey, until her passing in August 1997. Their life together was marked by deep love, quiet strength, and faithful partnership.
Dave was known for his strong work ethic and dependable nature. For many years, he worked in the appliance repair department at L.H. Brubaker Appliance in Strasburg. Even after retirement, he continued working at Darrenkamp’s Mount Joy Market, reflecting his lifelong desire to stay active and connected with others.
More than anything, Dave’s life was defined by his unwavering faith. Dave attended Erb Mennonite Church in Lititz; his relationship with the Lord was not simply something he spoke about—it was something he lived each day. His faith showed in his gentleness, humility, steady encouragement, and the quiet way he cared for those around him.
Dave deeply cherished his family and friends. He loved sharing stories, offering a helping hand, and simply being present.
His legacy of faith, devotion, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to call him husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Surviving are two daughters: Joyce wife of Drew Horst of Lampe, MO, Doris wife of Dean Neff of Washington Boro., a son, Don Hershey of Pataskala, OH, ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and two sisters: Jean Witmer of Lititz, and Lois Hershey of Lancaster. Preceding him in death is a grandson, Jason, and a sister, Janie Breneman.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Dave’s Celebration of Life Service at the East Petersburg Mennonite Church, 6279 Main Street, East Petersburg, on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at 2:00 PM. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Interment will be private in the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent in Dave’s memory to: Landis Homes Caring Fund, 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz, PA 17543, or Hospice and Community Care, P. O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
