Daniel Jonathan Foster, 81, of Lititz, left to take his first breaths in heaven on Saturday, May 3, 2025 with Cathy, the love of his life, at his side. He was born in Philadelphia, and grew up in Willow Grove.
Dan and Cathy would have been married 57 years this August, and Dan was often heard to say that next to Jesus, Cathy was the best thing that ever happened to him. They have three children: Sarah, Eric (husband of Kim), and Jennifer. Eric and Kim are the parents of his three Grandchildren: Kennedy, Cohen, Willa, all of whom (children and grandchildren) were sources of great delight, joy, and pride.
He was a musician- a pianist, organist, composer, arranger, professor, missionary, and minister of music and worship. He earned multiple Bachelor Degrees, a Masters in Arts, and was awarded a Doctorate of Letters. It was his privilege to teach at Simpson University, Oklahoma Wesleyan University, and Lancaster Bible College.
Dan spent countless hours in churches and recording studios making, and helping others create beautiful, worship music. In his later years, Dan was delighted to remain in contact with a great number of his former students.
A celebration of Life Service for Dan will be held at Lancaster Alliance Church, 210 Pitney Road, Lancaster, on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at 4:00 PM. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Sunday afternoon May 18th from 2:30 PM till the time of the service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
