Dale Lamar Grube, 92, of Brunnerville, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 30, 2026. Born and raised in Brunnerville, Dale spent his entire life in the community he loved. He was the son of the late S. Wayne and Erla H. (Miller) Grube and a 1953 graduate of Warwick Township High School.
Dale shared a remarkable love story with his wife, Shirley M. (Gehman) Grube. Together they celebrated 71 years of marriage on June 5, building a life centered on faith, family, hard work, and unwavering devotion to one another.
A gifted craftsman, Dale learned the building trade while working alongside his father constructing homes. He later became a self-employed custom kitchen cabinet maker, proudly working for many years with his eldest son, Jesse. Whether designing cabinetry or tackling an unexpected challenge, Dale was known for his exceptional workmanship, creative thinking, and ability to find a solution to just about any problem. His work reflected the pride he took in doing every job well.
For more than 50 years, Dale was a faithful member of Salem Lutheran Church of Kissel Hill, where his quiet faith and commitment to serving others were evident throughout his life. He was also a dedicated member of the Brunnerville Fire Company, serving for many years as both a driver and assistant chief. Giving back to his community was simply part of who he was.
Some of Dale's happiest moments were spent in Tioga County at the Wilkins Flat Hunting Cabin. Family vacations, summer weekends, and time shared around the cabin created treasured memories that will live on through generations. He was also an enthusiastic Studebaker collector and restorer, bringing countless classic vehicles back to life through his patience and remarkable skill. When he wasn't in the workshop, Dale could often be found cheering on his beloved Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Eagles.
Above all else, Dale's greatest joy was his family. He treasured every opportunity to spend time with Shirley, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and siblings. He delighted in watching his family grow, celebrating milestones, and creating lasting memories together. His steady presence, generous heart, quiet wisdom, and willingness to lend a helping hand will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
In addition to his beloved wife, Shirley, Dale is survived by three sons, Jesse L. Grube of Brunnerville, Stan, husband of Carol Grube, of Brunnerville, and Darryl, husband of Deb Grube, of Lititz; two daughters, Coleen, wife of Jerry Funk, of Manheim, and Kay, wife of Steve Fritz, of Lititz; nine grandchildren, Emily (Jonah), Sam (Amy), Hillary (Sean), Wesley (Carrie), Alyssa (Sean), Josh, Megan (Chris), Hannah (Ilia), and Austin; twelve great-grandchildren, Wayne, Jace, Cole, Abby, Thomas, Anna, Julia, Daniel, Everly, Camden, Avery, and Mason, with another great-grandson expected soon; a brother, Terry, husband of Becky Grube, of Lancaster; a sister, Lois Mearig of Lititz and a sister-in-law, Alice Grube. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Grube, and his sisters, Norma Rhoades and Lucille Martin.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Dale's funeral service at Salem Lutheran Church of Kissel Hill, 26 Owl Hill Road, Lititz, on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Wednesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
