Cheryl Ann Krull Marsden, 74, of Lititz, PA, went to the arms of Jesus her Savior, on January 22, 2024 following a debilitating fall. Cheryl was born on September 2, 1949 and raised in Whitinsville, MA, where she attended Whitinsville Christian School and Northbridge High School. She later graduated from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI with a BA in Education. She taught 1st grade in Jenison, MI, then moved to Vermont where she taught in Danville and Essex. An avid quilter, she served both as chairman of the Vermont Quilt Festival and on its board of directors. While living in Vermont, she met and married Rev. Peter Marsden, a widower and pastor in the Congregational churches in Vermont, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania.
Cheryl was a Christian with a deep love for Jesus and was a faithful member of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, Lititz. She was a skilled pianist with a passion for singing and was an active member of the Vocal Harmonix competitive barbershop chorus, as well as the choir of Trinity. Cheryl loved arts and crafts of all kinds, including theorem painting and tole painting, and was particularly skilled at quilting and sewing. She was an avid collector of antiques and had a keen eye for unique jewelry. She loved to travel, and enjoyed visits to various states, European countries, and recently, Iceland.
Cheryl is survived by sisters Patricia (Randy) Spaak, Janette (Greg) Bombardier, nieces Rebecca (Tim) Nelson and Katherine (Kevin) Damisch, nephew Matthew (Danielle) Bombardier and niece Kirsten (Kirk) Benson, niece Kelsey (Tyler) Smiley, and nephew Jake (Jo) Krull, step-children, Valerie (Bill) Fitzhugh and Joanna (Scott) Solfrain and grandchildren, Wilder Fitzhugh, Olive Solfrain, and Willa Solfrain. Her husband, Mike Katchur, passed away on Jan. 23, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maynard James Krull and Betty Vonhof, and her brother, James (Jay) Maynard Krull, and her beloved husband, Peter Marsden.
Cheryl was known for her colorful and lively personality, as well as her warm, kind, and generous nature.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Cheryl's Celebration of Life Service at Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, 44 East Orange Street, Lititz on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 2:00 PM. Friends may visit with the family at the church immediately following the service. Contributions in Cheryl's memory can be made to Compassion International or Samaritan's Purse.
