Betty A. Kulp

September 4, 1927 — March 23, 2019

Betty A. Kulp, 91, of Lititz, and formerly of Reading, and Elverson, died peacefully surrounded
by her family on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Luther Acres. Born in Elverson, she was the
daughter of the late Miles M. and Olive A. Kratz Piersol. Betty was the loving wife for 70 years
of the late Kenneth E. Kulp who died in September of 2016. In 1991 Betty retired from working
at the Sears Roebuck Company Stores located at Pottstown and Wyomissing. She was a faithful member of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, Lititz. For over 40 years Betty was a member of Pine Swamp Evangelical Congregational Church, Elverson, where she helped teach Sunday school and played the piano; she later became a member of St. Luke’s Evangelical Congregational Church in Shillington. Her interests included: home sewing, counted cross stitch, crocheting, quilting, reading, traveling, gardening, and participating in water aerobics. Betty had a life-long passion for her family and cherished the times she could spend with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are two daughters: Judy wife of Ed Scott of Birdsboro, Linda wife of Jim Fleager of
Lititz, a son, K. Barry Kulp of Bechtelsville, seven grandchildren: Jeff & Matt Scott, Bradley &
Bryan Kulp, Jason & Drew Fleager, Kimberly Fleager Martin, and eight great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death is a great grandson, Kyle Kulp, a brother, Mervyn H. Piersol, and three
sisters: Josephine Christman, Florence Urner, and Phyllis Piersol.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Betty’s Life Celebration Service at the
Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, 44 East Orange Street, Lititz, on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 3:00 PM. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Saturday afternoon from 2:00 PM until the time of the service. Interment will be private in Pine Swamp Cemetery,
Elverson. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in Betty’s memory to: Lititz Trinity
Evangelical Congregational Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 211, Lititz, PA 17543, or Hospice and Community Care, P. O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125, or Luthercare’s Caring Fund, 600 East Main Street, Lititz, PA 17543.
