Barbara A. “Barb” Kerdeman, 78, of Manheim, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, while under the care of Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy. She was the beloved wife of Jules H. Kerdeman, with whom she shared 59 years of marriage.
Born in Lebanon, she was the daughter of the late Paul R., Jr., and Helen B. (Williams) Kupp.
Barb was a graduate of Manheim Central High School, class of 1966. Following high school, she was employed by Hamilton Watch for a few years, and then for many years she cared for her family and home. After her children were grown, she was employed by Small Freys Daycare, and later as activity director for PA Dutch Campground. Barb had a creative mind, regularly crafting and cross stitching, and she always had a unique suggestion to offer. Her greatest attribute was that “she never met a stranger,” and she treated everyone like family, her family being her pride and joy. Barb was an active attender of Mount Hope United Christian Church where she served in various roles.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Michelle Wetzel, wife of Eugene, of Manheim; a son, Mike Kerdeman, husband of Sarah, of Manheim; grandchildren, Jared (Victoria) Wetzel, Katie (Zacheous) Tahidu, Andrew Kerdeman, Brian Kerdeman, Jenna Wetzel, Jake (Morgan) Kerdeman, Emma (Tyler) Brill, and Jordyn Wetzel; five great-grandchildren; and sisters, Teresa Selzer, wife of Eldon, of Landisville, and Cherry Hess, wife of Richard, of Dornsife. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Kerdeman.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, August 28, at Mount Hope United Christian Church, 206 Cider Press Road, Manheim, PA 17545, with a viewing at the church from 10 a.m. to noon. Interment will follow the service at Grandview Memorial Park, Annville.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Barb’s memory to Mount Hope United Christian Church, and mail to 118 North Laurel Street, Manheim, PA 17545.
