Barbara D. Adkins

Barbara D. Adkins, 80, of Lititz, and formerly of Brickerville; died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, May 17, 2025. Born in Flint, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Mary Clear Drake. Barbara was the loving wife of the late James Adkins who died in May of 1987. For over 34 years Barbara had a dedicated and distinguished career in Banking in Loans and Operations Departments for many of the local branches for Fulton Bank. She was a faithful and active member of the East Cocalico Church of the Brethren in Stevens; where she helped with the adult Sunday school class. For over 10 years Barbara was an active volunteer for “Meals on Wheels” for the Lititz area. She enjoyed crocheting and was an avid reader. Barbara will be missed by her companion dog named Lily, a Corgi/Sheltie mix that she was devoted to. Barbara had a deep passion for her family and she cherished the time she could spend with her children, sisters, brothers, and their extended family.

Surviving is a daughter, Kimberly E. wife of Charles Mull Jr. of Ephrata, two sisters: Linda Lee Ewing of Lititz, Judy wife of Ronald Stoll of Nokomis, FL, a brother, Charles D. husband of Lisa Drake of Goshen, IN, and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death is a son, Reverend James Eugene Adkins, and a brother, James Edward Drake.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Barbara’s Funeral Service at the Buch Funeral Home, 216 South Broad Street, Lititz, on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 10:30 AM. There will be a viewing on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at the funeral home from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Brickerville Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu flowers contributions may be sent in Barbara’s memory to Hospice & Community Care, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
