B. Franklin Kreider, Jr.

Jan 27, 1938 — Aug 4, 2026

B. Franklin “Frank” Kreider, Jr., of Maytown, formerly of Manheim, passed away at his home on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. Born in East Petersburg, he was the son of the late Emma S. (Hostetter) and B. Franklin Kreider, Sr.

In his early years, Frank participated in 1-W service as an operating room technician and an orderly at Boston Hospital. During his working years, Frank worked in construction for Consolidated Construction and he also was a truck driver, most recently for Brothers Trucking Company, LLC. In retirement, Frank enjoyed providing transportation for the Amish community.

Frank was an avid Eagles and Phillies fan. In his spare time, Frank served as a little league baseball umpire, he was meticulous in caring for his lawn and landscaping, and, when he was younger, he enjoyed hunting. A typical day for Frank consisted of going to Gus’ for breakfast to be part of the “counter crew” and watching black and white westerns, especially John Wayne movies. He was a character, known for being a jokester, having a good sense of humor, and being a storyteller.

He is survived by his sons, B. Franklin Kreider, III and Forrest Kreider; daughters, Kim (Luke) Wingerd, Karen (Dan) Zimmerman, and Stephanie (Jamie) Kopp; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Dot (Dale) Hershey, Rose Mary (Alf) Landis, and June (Joe) Groft; a companion of many years, Dolores Arnold, and her children, Keith (Wendi) Arnold and Debra Brommer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Clair and Stan Kreider.
